Legoland, CA

Enjoy some pics from our latest adventure!

Well we actually did it....we finally went to Legoland.....

The girls went in the fall of '07 with Brian's parents and brother. But their trip was cut short by the round of wildfires that swept thru San Diego...
So this was our follow-up visit. The girls loved going on all the rides and I think they enjoyed really no lines at all. We only waited for a half hour once. They could ride pretty much everything. Abi was too short for the two roller coasters but she did not mind....that meant she hit up rides while Rory was on the faster rides. So we had a good day on the coast and enjoyed some good family time together. Thanks to Rory's school, The Classical Academy, we were able to go there for only 18.00 a person. Which is a steal! Legoland has a new Sea Life Aquarium there now and according to the kids that was their favorite part of the whole day.....good to know that wildlife and sea life and fish and stuff is more fun than rides at this point. I am sure that will change. We could not have asked for a better day to go...I think the high was maybe 78 degrees, totally clear....just beautiful! If weren't at Legoland we may have been at the beach!

Not much to say

I have felt like there has just not been a whole lot to say lately....at least not a whole lot that is interesting enough to post here....I was thinking last night what is going on that I have nothing to share with the world...and then I heard it....He said....too busy! Lord I hate being too busy to enjoy the little stuff.....He said SLOW DOWN! So I will. Maybe then the little things like reading, blogging, coloring with the kids will take place more. This time every year gets a bit tricky....we have closing out 2008 for Brian's Law Firm and prepping business and personal taxes and then you have home school now back in session...and to add to that mix Rory is in Tennis and Gymnastics through her school this 6 week session...so Fridays are pretty much out of the house for half of the day. And of course I have added Mary Kay to my plate...but I am loving it. You see I love the Mary Kay line of skin care and I have a passion for women so putting the two together just made sense...and I am really enjoying the training and the support Mary Kay has had to offer....now building a client base is an entirely different thing...so I am really praying and trusting in the Lord to give me the courage and strength to meet others and teach them proper skin care....so anyways SLOW DOWN right. For those that know me I am not a really busy person I just have more on my plate right now then I am used to I suppose....so there ya have it. I hope to be back on a more permanent basis soon.

What are you?

So I was thinking today I am a Red Vines kind of gal....but then I know for sure there are those that hate Red Vines...they prefer Twizlers....so as I sit here and eat way too may Red Vines I ask you what kind do you like? Or maybe you don't like licorice at all....silly thought I know but I just got to thinking.

A New Venture...

Or Adventure if you see things like that....
I have decided after many months of saying NO WAY! that I am going to take on a new business venture...I am going to try things out with Mary Kay....I use the product and absolutely love it and so why not I thought. Its not a lot to start things up so why not? Now for most of you that know me may be thinking this is not like Peris to do something like this and you are so right...you see that's what I thought. I was scared to get out of my comfort zone...but you know what I had this gnawing in my soul that I needed to do this. Weird! But I just had to do it. So now its official and I have my starter kit and I am officially overwhelmed. But no fear I have my good friend and sales director that is going to walk me through all of this. So now I have to somehow figure out what I am going to do to actually get this thing off the ground. So I have decided for my first big order I am going to offer a 25% discount to anybody who wants to order something....I figure that gives the opportunity to help my order size and see who likes the product. I am just learning but I am truly excited about something new. I think it makes things fun when you enjoy the product as well. Now again for those that know me I am so not a make-upy kind of gal. I enjoy a little (sometimes) but most of the time I just prefer not to wear it...but honestly I have been enjoying the Mary Kay Satin Lips lip balm and their line of lip gloss....its simple yet just enough for me....but I am going to use this new business to share my passion for skin care and that it is possible to have nice, clear skin and to be happy about it!!!! So pray for me in this new exciting step I am taking and remember me too for any needs you may have.

A week in review

As I sit here on my couch I am reflecting on this week....for the first week in the new year it was not the most easy going and smooth....listen to the chaos...

Monday I was to be at the doctors by 10:15 for Abi and the office is about 30 minutes with parking and getting the kids actually in the building included...so Brian took my car to the gym that morning and told me he would be home in time for me to leave....I got a phone call about 1 hour before I had to leave with this on the other end.." the car died" "WHAT!" I said very loud....so needless to say we had to get it jumped and figured out....so Brian took me to the doctors with the kids so he could go and buy a new battery while we were in the visit....not knowing of course that the doctor was running about 1 hour(yes 1 hour) behind...we left at 11:30 I was already done for the day....but we still had school to do and I was determined to hit the gym since it would be my first day back....
Tuesday I could not go to Bible Study because Abi is still not free of this running nose thing....and I feel bad taking her to child care even when I know its really no big deal....so I do school with Rory....clean up the mess that has been lingering in my kitchen. Brian was gone all day and when he got home it seemed like a tornado hit the house...it was loud, messy again and the kids were all over him....and of course I was hitting the gym again!Did I leave out I had no food in the house either...so after the gym I had to hit the store too....
Wednesday went well...smooth...school...and normal life finally! And this time I sent Brian to the gym at night...
Thursday I had to have Rory to her classes by 745am....Its been a month since I had to actually be dressed and out the door by 730am and have the kids ready and fed too....so after that I came home drank some coffee and relaxed or so I thought I would get to. The doorbell rang at 8am as I was blow drying my hair....who could be coming over....oh the electrician that I did not know was coming....so I let him in and explained what we wanted to happen with the wires and the TV and you know all the other gab I included....so I had to leave by 930 to get up to Ramona to a chiropractic appointment and then back down the hill....I had to go to the library in 4S ranch they had some books on hold for me and then to the Dry Cleaners to pick up 12 pieces of clothing for Brian...and somewhere spend some time feeding me and Abi at Panera. Then I had to pick Rory up by 2 and get everything ready for the evening and go to the gym again....
Friday I thought would be better....but we all know how that goes....the electrician showed up at 730 to begin working on our wire situation....I had to get up and get all going because Rory started Tennis again and had to be there by 930 but first I had to get Abi to my sister in laws house....then we went to Tennis...done with that...went back to pick up Abi...we then had gymnastics at the YMCA at 11:30...finished with that and came home and had to feed the girls because they were famished...move to the evening...we had a great meal and rented a movie...that was the best part....
So today was much more easy going...Brian took the girls to the bike shop and had them fitted for helmets (we have been such bad parents we have been letting them ride bikes and scooters for the last year without helmets) so we could now go places outside of our neighborhood and ride. We watched football and rooted for the ravens!!! And now as I am listening to Micheal W Smith and the kids are chatting as they are "going to bed" Brian is out getting me my favorite fish taco plate from The Brigantine and another movie for tonight. I may even open that new bottle of Rose Champagne I got from Trader Joes tonight....we will see how it all goes....
So here is to a better more easy going week next week!

Workouts are back! {screaming}

Ok friends of the blog world I am back to working out....I am so in workout heaven....I am not up to 100% but I am pretty darn close...this week I have done 2 spin classes,1 yoga, 1 weight lifting class, 1 step class....not bad for not really doing anything since September. I am not in a bunch of pain...just some minor discomfort here and there....so I am hoping with some more workouts and my life getting back to normal I can drop the 15 pounds I have put on since September....so there ya go 15 pounds I actually said it...so sad! But that's what happens when your active lifestyle comes to a complete halt...honestly I had been very depressed and upset by this sad weight gain but I have had to tell myself nothing is permanent I can change this once I am better....and unless something stops me again I think I am on the track to loosing it(that is the weight). We have some friends running in the Carlsbad Half here in San Diego at the end of the month and I wish I would have been better in time to train and run with them...but there are many more events in 2009 that will be open to join in....anyone interested in joining up in some local events.....(mud run, Coronado bridge walk, la jolla 5k????) let me know if you are would love to join you.
p.s. Susie you are missed!!!I am thinking about you during this thinking ahead of the La Jolla Run...fun times!

Birthday countdown

Can you believe Rory has now begun the question...How long till my birthday mom? She knows that after Christmas comes her birthday, she just does not know exactly how long after Christmas....so from now until March we will discuss her birthday daily! Yikes!!! So the preparations have begun in her mind...party, no party, presents, cake vs. cupcakes....I never knew how much thought she put into it I always thought it was just me but this little 5 year old, almost 6, really thinks a lot about this.

I tried something new....the middle of the quilt is two charm packs and the border is what is called...Minkie....its soft and has little bumpies on it....it was so fun to make and I hope she likes it..... I loved the colors....
